Hi, it's Janet Murray here. And here's some inspiration that will help you stay consistent with your content. I was speaking at an event last week when a social media manager asked me if I had any tips for helping her stay consistent with her content, because she was so busy creating content for her own clients that she often ran out of time to create her own.

::

So I shared my best tip for staying consistent with your content. And I'm going to share it with you to create your content before you do any customer or client work. Yep. I really did say that. Do your content before you to any customer or client work, I started doing this a few years ago and it absolutely transformed my content and actually my life and my business.

::

In fact, I now don't take any calls before mid day. Now, if that makes me sound like a pre-Madonna, then hear me out. If you don't get your content done first, then you're likely to get distracted. Now I'm probably more distractible than your average person. I do have ADHD after all, but I think most of us struggle to stay focused when there are constant interruptions.

::

And once you get started with your working day and there's emails and phone calls, it's very easy to fall into reactive mode rather than proactive and research shows. It can take up to 22 minutes to get back on task every time we get interrupted. So if you don't have a clear block of time in your day to get stuck into deep work at a time,

::

when you can really get into the flow, no wonder you're struggling to stay consistent with your content. And here's another compelling reason. If you don't put your content first, a few months down the line, you may not have any customers or clients to work with, or you'll be stuck in feast and famine. So times when you're super busy with clients and customers followed by scammy times when there's barely nothing in the diary at all.

::

And while you might think it's the right thing to do to prioritize your customers or clients, they are paying you money. After all letting other people's priorities control. Your schedule can actually have serious consequences for your business. Now, I'm not saying that you need to dedicate your whole morning to content planning, content creation and planning is my job after all, but you do need at least one decent block of time in your day or in your week.

::

You can't do it all at once. If that suits you better, but you need a clear one of time with no interruptions. So you can focus on the things that need sustained concentration, such as writing or planning or creating content. This is the reason why I get it. Planned sessions are so popular. I run them for the members of my creator's club.

::

We get together every Wednesday for a couple of hours to plan our content. So there's the accountability, but crucially, that date and time is on the calendar and things that are written down generally get done. Would you like to create super engaging content about your business and do it consistently? If so you need my courageous content planet in your life. It's a gorgeous April desk diary.

That's so simple to use because it's based on my four by four strategy, which involves posting four sales of content four days a week.
